Happy New Year
Who was so deluded he thought he ws going to recruit a solicitor and sue facebook. Naturally he did not have a case, a plan or anything ut he did have a nose full of coke, the devil on his back and a massive ego. The same individual also saw himself as being the next Leonardo Da Vinci, his work? Some screwed up paint covered bits of paper. These along with a head full of coke and an easily manipulated associate went to a high end auction house, with inconclusive results. This same man proclaimed to me that he had The Devil in him, namely Lucifer His behaviour reflected all the self delusion, ego, foolery and other negatives that led to the downfall of this the Highest ranking of Gods Angels. It was all quite laughable really if it was not so tragic, the veil was lifted and everything was revealed in the harsh light of day. Fancy threatening to phone some ones Mum and tell them their son was doing Cocaine. I recall pointing out that if he tried that with my own Mother, she would have said yes, I know. Actually I do not use that stuff anymore and and apart from a very little bit last year have not touched it in years. The reasoning for my abstinence is though not in my own personal experience all listed above. I could extend the effects of that horrible stuff and how it messes everything up but I am not going to, I have other things to be getting on with.
As much as I would like to get on and write a ton of stuff each day I often find myself tied up with other things getting in my way. Things like housework, cooking, going to the gym and God forbid…Gardening. mercifully that last is currently not high on my list of activities, the weather is cold with little to do and I am better off doing stuff indoors instead. There is my own garden, a bunch of wood that needs chopping up and some other small stuff, but I am in no great hurry. Instead I have a large pile of Model tanks and the like to be getting on with, it is my dream to build a diorama or two, but for that I have to get the ingredients together, learn about 3D printers, stl files and some other stuff on top of that. These last are a sideshow to the main event and painting a large scale model of Velma Dinkley from Scooby Doo has a certain attraction to it. The added benefits of this new idea, that I am learning something new, get to spend money and will keep my hands busy for the foreseeable I may even be able to make some profit out of it. I have already looked at product design and build and TBH I have just stumped out a large sum of money on a new laptop and as fast as it is, this beast is simply not powerful or fast enough to even begin doing things. It will also require going back to school, almost to primary level in fact. It may simply be easier and wiser to go back to university and study classics, Ancient Greece and Rome has a certain appeal and is a different world to that of Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia.
Elsewhere I am still painting, planning on dropping the use of Cannabis and gave myself the collywobbles thinking about Vampires. I used to read obsessively about them as a child, spending many a happy hour in the local bookstore reading about these and other monsters whilst my Mum went about her shopping. I guess she thought I was safe there and the staff probably kept an eye on me for her. I learnt a lot about the supernatural, Borley Rectory, Nosferatu and Werewolves too. ( Jean Grenier anyone?) Some of this stuff successfully frightened me enough as to not get out of the bath for the fear of meeting something along the corridor and was probably just being silly. Strangely enough in later years I took up an active interest in paranormal investigation, visiting Borley ( The rectory long since destroyed by fire) and staying overnight at places like Chingle Hall in Lancashire where just to mention two things, something pulled my hair and an invisible cat sat on my lap.
