A few days ago, last week in fact I had the pleasure of passing a kidney stone. This was a wake up call to drink more water, eat less salt and cut back on carbonated drinks. It was also bloody painful and could have been a lot worse, so I was fortunate I did not have to go to hospital or the Dr.s. The last time I had a crisis I was pissing blood, had a raging temperature and was put on Pethidine. The fungal outbreak on my back just added to the excitement of the occasion, as did not being able to pee properly for how long. Imagine straining to take a slash and only getting a few drops coming out, leaving you exhausted, in pain and sweating buckets. Then you have to go back to work, smiling and pretending you have your shit together and everything is fine. All of that was just over ten years ago and I was working in sales, I can say I liked pethidine and that’s about it. I did not like the duration of the crisis which went on for several weeks, nor did I like having to carry a pot around the place. The dr.s wanted me to piss in the thing to measure the amount of solids in my pee, the painkillers bunged me up and I resorted to eating prunes to clear the backlog. I always eat prunes to clear any backlog, they are tasty, nutritious and help you shit.

Anyway that was then and today I am pissing quite normally, my bowels are behaving and the sun is shining. It is warm outside and Ninja the cat has recently been sent away for innocently sticking his claws in his daddy’s shoulder whilst being stroked. Once I am done here I may find a chance to upload some more artwork to various and or open a new account somewhere in furtherance of personal/ professional fulfilment. Later on there is an obligatory phone interview which would be easier to skip. We have recently had a bank holiday here in the UK, which is kind of like a national holiday but without it being our national saints day or something like that. Instead it is one decided for us by the Government and marks no great or special occasion. Traditionally it rains on this day or the weather is at least miserable, I spent Sunday removing weed from the pond and saying hello to the Goldfish. Yesterday…? To be honest apart from painting I have forgotten what happened or what got done, so probably nothing very much.
The painting side of things is keeping me sane, my mental health is tolerable and I must order in some cat food.
