The smarter more sensible part of me. i.e. My friend Jackie said it would be a better idea to leave this new thing alone and do something else. The sillier non listening part of me went to do something else, got restless and decided to be creative. (Again) Slowly getting fed up sitting at a desk all day I went back to learning some Romanian. Why Romanian? Well I was learning Russian with a view to going on holiday there, but politics got in the way and Romanian looked just as much fun is related to Latin has similarities with Spanish and Italian which I did at school and ninety + days of learning in seem to be doing pretty well. I am not so great at languages, history is more my thing! However I am learning and that is what’s important. I may even take myself on holiday there sometime, my last foreign holiday being a day trip to Wales.

My usual occupation when not tied to an office chair is that of artist and like many artists I get artists block, run out of inspiration, become depressed and dig myself into deep holes from which it can sometimes seem hard to dig my way out again. Right now is one of those times and doing this has proven to be a bit of a lifeline, at least I feel like I am being creative, which is a hell of a lot more than what was going on before, apart from the garden that is. The garden has seen many changes over the years and quite a lot in the last few months, it provides frustration, exercise, a release for some dodgy mental health goings on and more excuses to spend money than a millionaires wife. It looks if I say so myself rather nice right now, the old Plum Tree has gone as it got the sickness, the Rose Bush now has a climbing frame and a Belfast sink somehow made its way up from Wheatley requiring a few helping hands along the way. The thing must weigh around 50-70 kg and now has pride of place in the corner of the terrace with lots of mint sprouting out of it. Sat on bricks it provides a shelter for the creeping/slithering things that proliferate here getting flicked into next door or onto the lawn when I find them, the Snails often find themselves a roosting spot in the Fig Tree where they won’t get squashed. They come down and explore when the weather is cooler and it rains.

Hey!

I am an artist and blogger, resident to a famous university city in Central South East England. When I am not doing the above I am gardening and when not gardening, I am most likely doing something else
